READ BEFORE SIGNING UP/REGISTERING YOUTH FOR EVENTS.
Your registration/application requires you to acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to our Cell Phone policy Terms provided here, and that you have done so knowingly, willingly, and voluntarily.
At Back2Youth, we believe some of the most impactful moments happen when youth are fully present—with nature, with each other, and with themselves. To support this, we take a mindful, low-tech approach during camp.
Our Approach
We strongly encourage campers to leave cell phones at home.
If your child brings a phone, we ask that it be used intentionally and respectfully:
For photos, emergencies, or brief check-ins during designated times (typically transit)
Not for games, social media, or entertainment
Campers assume responsibility for their device (loss or damage can occur)
If these expectations aren’t met, staff will safely hold the phone until the end of the day.
Why It Matters
Unplugging helps campers:
Build confidence and independence
Form genuine, face-to-face friendships
Stay engaged in activities and nature
Strengthen communication and problem-solving skills
Experience a deeper sense of connection and belonging
Other Devices
To keep the experience distraction-free, please leave other electronics at home, including:
Tablets, laptops, and gaming systems
Smartwatches with internet access
Music players and similar devices
Cameras are welcome for capturing memories.
Staying Connected
We understand that time away can feel big—for both campers and families:
Our team is always available if you need to reach us
We will contact you directly if anything important arises
We share photos when possible so you can stay connected to the experience
A Shared Commitment
By participating in Back2Youth, you’re supporting an experience rooted in presence, growth, and community.
Thank you for helping us create a space where youth can unplug, reconnect, and truly thrive.
With gratitude,
The Back2Youth Team
