Super Summer 9-Day Camp June 2024


Super Summer 9-DAY Camp
June 17th - 27th, 2024
from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

*JUNE’S 9-DAY SUPER SUMMER & JULY 22-26TH CAMPS ARE NOW FULL.
BUT, WE DO still HAVE SPOTS OPEN IN OUR UPCOMING 5-DAY JULY 8th-12th CAMP.

Details: A total of 9 camp days, packed full of a variety of fun, educational & uplifting activities are included.
Open to Lane County youth, ages 11-18 years old.

Cost? The cost of this year’s 9-day June camp is $360/per child enrolled.

Please know we don’t wish to make finances a barrier to enrollment. We do offer some scholarships for families in need of additional support. If you’re greatly interested in your child’s participation with us, but finances are a real barrier to access, please fill out the form to register and our team will be in contact with you to evaluate what we can do to support or confirm enrollment.
What to expect? An overall boost in well being, increased resilience and mindfulness, a reduction in expressed stress or anxiety, new friendships, smiles. laughter and adventures of all kinds with Mother Nature.
What to bring? An open mind, your curiosity and layered, weather appropriate clothing for that day’s scheduled activity. *We’ll provide further details, as well as, information & a Prep for Super Summer Camp Checklist with confirmed camper registration, closer to the event.

Super Summer Camp Schedule

  • MEET DAILY AT HOME BASE:
    WELLSPRINGS FRIENDS SCHOOL
    3590 West 18th Ave.
    Eugene, OR 97402

  • Monday June 17, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 1
    First day of camp, meet at 8:30am at home base, WELLSPRINGS FRIENDS SCHOOL for orientation, meet & greet, and camp introduction. Then we’ll gear up for a day of rock climbing at the Skinner's Butte rock wall, co-hosted by the City of Eugene Outdoor Program at the River House. We will focus on team building, leadership, embracing courage even when under stress or uncomfortable (building resilience) and mindfulness. For the afternoon, we’ll learn and practice mindfulness with Matt at Oregon Mind Body Institute.

  • Tuesday June 18, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 2
    We will spend the day in Newport, engaging with our ocean friends at the Oregon Coast Aquarium and then a visit to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

  • Wednesday June 19, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 3
    Give Back Day! At B2Y we feel a big contributor to greater happiness in life is the ability and willingness to give thanks, and to reciprocate as a form of expressing gratitude for our community. So we’ll spend the morning focusing on conservation work with the City of Eugene. Later that afternoon, we will learn CPR & basic First Aid skills with Linda from the Red Cross, to help us recognize a variety of ways/skills we have that can support/uplift/heal our larger community, to see others as valuable neighbors and contributors to our overall well being and increase our sense of belonging.

  • Thursday June 20, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 4
    We’re going to explore and hike along the waterfall filled trails of the largest state park in Oregon. Silver Falls State Park, located abut 25 miles outside of Salem. boasts more than 9,000 acres of protected wilderness, as well as, some of the most spectacular waterfalls around, including the 177-foot South Falls and the 178-foot Double Falls.

  • Friday June 21, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 5
    SUP Day! A water-filled play day of Stand Up Paddle Boarding with the River House at Amazon Canal.

  • Monday June 24, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 6

    The SHIFT Cycle team will take us out for a day of bike safety education and human-powered sightseeing around town. Then we will finish the day with Dancing with Carlos introducing us to freestyle dance with the body, beyond the barriers of movement based on what’s ‘'socially cool’, helping us to move beyond any sense of self judgement or embarrassment about our bodies that we have been carrying based on past trauma barriers, low self esteem and/or social conditioning. Carlos "Retro" Rasmussen supports the Freestyle Animation Movement as an Artist/Performer/Teacher/Event Producer and Community Advocate for a better mental health system through Voice, Vulnerability and Movement.

  • Tuesday June 25, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 7

    We’re going to make the most of our awesome water holes in the region, with a day of kayaking with the River House at Dexter Reservoir (also known as Dexter Lake).

  • Wednesday June 26, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 8
    A trip to the beach, with a hike along the Hobbit Trail just North of Florence. We’ll also enjoy a seaside lunch, play time on the sand and a dip in the ocean. Maybe we’ll even spot one of our local whale residents!

  • Thursday June 27, 8:30am to 4pm:
    Day 9
    Why not save some of the best summer fun for last? With Finn Rock and a McKenzie River rafting trip to Helfrich. We’ll make a splash to wrap up our amazing B2Y Super Summer adventure.

    *Please note, our camp schedule is subject to change depending on weather, the availability of collaborators and other factors that may be outside of our control. We will keep the schedule in tact, but some activities or locations may shift prior to the date listed.
