Family Empowerment Camp
August 10, 17 + 24th, 2025
Sundays from 2:30-4:30pm

*AUGUST’S FAMILY EMPOWERMENT CAMP REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 5PM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 1ST, 2025 - BUT DON’T WAIT TO REGISTER, SPOTS ARE LIMITED!

Have you ever thought???
“I wish I could trust myself more, release chronic stress patterns, empower resiliency, or feel more playful, capable and supported as a parent/caregiver overall… What can I do? How can I be more mindful and energized, WHILE still living in the “real world”, fulfilling all my other tasks and obligations in providing for my family...?”

Well, those questions are exactly why we decided to create and launch our FIRST EVER Family Empowerment Camp! We believe all families deserve more support, more acknowledgement for their hard work and successes, more access to education, community and tools which are designed to empower them to new heights of wellness and joy - mentally, emotionally and physically.

Details: Our Family Empowerment Camp includes; 3 introductory mindfulness lessons, offered once weekly, over three consecutive Sunday afternoons, starting on Sunday August 10th at 2:30pm.
These camps are intended and created for ADULTS ONLY. We will not be offering child care at this time, as we do want to emphasize that this camp is dedicated to parents/guardians/caregivers themselves - not to their children. So if you’re looking for more support for your child, and not for yourself, then be sure to check out our upcoming seasonal teen camps on our
Events page.

This Family Empowerment Camp is open to all Lane County parents, guardians or caregivers, who are ready to discover and explore mindfulness tools and modalities which are designed to improve resiliency, emotional regulation and stress management. The same mindful-based, trauma-informed curriculum we offer teens is now available (and expanded) to support parents and families as well.

The 3 introductory mindfulness lessons covered in this camp are:
🔐 Creating a Sense of Safety in/with the Body
🧬 The Central Nervous System
💪 and Building Resilience

Who is this camp for?
This camp is intended as a self care and educational space dedicated to parents, guardians and caregivers. Please take some time to explore and discern if this camp is a good fit for you, before registering.

Due to the foundational subjects we will be introducing in our Family Empowerment Camp, it is important that all registered participants have the safety of a home environment that is not physically abusive, or unstable to the degree that you feel you may be in danger or threatened at any given time. Since we are going to begin our camp by guiding ourselves into creating a greater sense of personal safety and trust with ourselves and our bodies, it is absolutely necessary to FIRST actually have a safe and secure personal space with which to become more familiar and practice these techniques.

*If you are not living in a safe environment at this time, we highly encourage you to seek out appropriate community support. Please do what you can to get yourself to a safe place, seek help now and do not attend this class.
Here is a database of local resources which may be of direct support to you: Parenting Now (formerly Birth To Three) created this online directory of programs, services, and assistance available to families throughout Lane County Oregon.

As stated above, our Family Empowerment Camp is not appropriate for those who are living in directly unsafe conditions. It is intended only for those participants who are currently in a safe home environment, but who are still finding themselves in a chronic pattern of stress, anxiety, overwhelm and/or exhaustion, and who are interested in empowering themselves beyond those depleting patterns in new ways. If this sounds like you, then we invite you to come join us! You will likely gain insights and valuable tools from our camp, as well as the reminder you’re not going through it alone, as there is a whole community of support all around you.

Yes, you totally deserve to include yourself in the equation of life. So in dedicating this camp time for your own self care and well being, you are committing to your greater happiness, restoration, inner trust and personal empowerment. You are actively saying; “Yes, I’m worth it! and I am ready to claim that truth for myself like never before.” We honor and celebrate this commitment We welcome you and we look forward to sharing our community space, and to offering supportive tools, in our upcoming camp.

Costs? The cost of this year’s Family Empowerment Camp is $0!
That’s right $0. However, in registering for this camp, you are confirming that you agree to, and will complete, the Family Empowerment Camp Participation Agreement.

Our Family Empowerment Camp is our beta-test launch for our adult camp model. As such we would like to invite/include only parents, guardians and caregivers who are committed to full participation for all 3 camp days, AND who are willing to offer ideas for improvement, feedback, share successes, and a public testimonial for our future use on our website and/or social media channels. *Be sure to read through and acknowledge your confirmation with our Liability & Release Agreement before checking the box in the registration form that confirms this agreement.

What to expect? An overall boost in well being - leading to increased resilience, empowerment, self confidence and mindfulness. A noticeable decrease in anxiety, stress, depression and symptoms of chronic overwhelm. Plus, make new community connections with like minded neighbors who are also looking to build mindfulness practices and prioritize quality time in nature.

What to bring? An open mind, your curiosity and a willingness to hold a safe space for yourself and others. Also plan to bring a water bottle, and layered, weather appropriate clothing for that afternoon’s weather forecast. *We’ll provide further details, as well as, a Prep for Empowerment Camp Checklist with confirmed registration, closer to the event. Questions? Contact Us.

Family Empowerment Camp Schedule

  • Sunday August 10, from 2:30-4:30pm.
    Part 1
First afternoon of camp, meet for orientation, meet & greet, and a brief mindfulness introduction overview. Then we’ll dive right into Lesson 1: Creating a Sense of Safety in/with the Body.
    .

  • Sunday August 17, from 2:30-4:30pm.
    Part 2

For our second camp day, we’ll start our camp with a gratitude and personal sharing circle, offer time for Q&A to cover Lesson 1 takeaways, then begin Lesson 2: The Central Nervous System. We’ll cover the basic functions, why it’s important to understand how it’s been conditioned to work over our lifetimes, with our body’s known and unknown stimuli, and how we can bring a greater sense of awareness and apply tools to better regulate it, thus improving our resiliency, emotional regulation, reducing our stress (fight-flight-freeze-or-fawn) responses and bringing ourselves back into a “now moment” presence and a deeper self-trust.

  • Sunday August 24, from 2:30-4:30pm.
    Part 3

We’ll start off our last camp day with a gratitude and personal sharing circle, offer time for Q&A to cover Lessons 1 and 2 takeaways, then share Lesson 3: Building Resilience.

  • We also want to encourage long-term success through building friendships and emphasizing the value of sharing and growing with other parents and camp participants. Those enrolled in this Empowerment Camp will gain the most from a willingness to build relationships with others, and to perhaps even enlist an '“Accountability Buddy” to help them utilize mindfulness tools and to recognize when it’s time to apply them or re-frame into more compassion for themselves. We highly encourage this Buddy System, as we all benefit when we recognize we’re not going through anything alone, even when it feels like it.

*Note, our Family Empowerment Camp details may be slightly subject to change - depending on weather conditions, the availability of collaborators and other factors that may be outside of our control. We will keep the schedule in tact, but some activities may shift slightly prior to the date listed. Of course, we will keep those enrolled informed of any changes as promptly and with as much advanced notice as conditions allow. Thank you! - The B2Y Team
